Skills & Coaching

What would you like to do on a bike?

Maybe you’ve never ridden before. Maybe it’s been years. Or maybe you already love riding and there are a few things you’d like to get better at. Wherever you’re starting from, we’ll start there.

Skills build confidence. Confidence gives you the freedom to ride: to explore, to connect, to go where you want to go.

What are you looking for?

I want to learn to ride

Never ridden before?
Or perhaps it’s been such a long time it feels like starting again.
It’s never too late to learn.

I can ride – I want to ride better

Want to feel better on your bike, build your skills or tackle something you’ve never quite mastered?
We’ll work on what will make a difference to your riding.

I just want to ride

Join a relaxed cruise along the pathways, or come along for a road group ride if you’re wanting to head a little further & faster.
Enjoy the ride, the company and this special place we get to call home on the Gold Coast.

Something for your child or school?

From the first pedals through to bike skills, road awareness and riding more independently.
There are workshops for children as well as lessons and programs for schools, kindergartens and community groups.

How would you like to learn?

Free workshops

We facilitate the free City of Gold Coast workshops for children and adults, from learning to ride through to building skills and confidence.
They’re small, friendly sessions and completely free.

Lessons and coaching

Sometimes you want a bit more individual attention.
Book a one-on-one session or bring a few friends and we can work on exactly what you want to learn or improve, at a time that suits you.

What can we work on?

Here are a few ideas, but every session is tailored to you:

  • Learning to ride – whether you’ve never ridden before or it’s been a very long time
  • Balance – where good bike handling starts
  • Braking – how much, when to brake, which brake
  • Gears – which ones to use and when
  • Cornering – where to look, posture, choosing your line
  • Hills – gearing & pacing yourself
  • Descending – building control and confidence
  • Road riding – positioning, traffic, reading what’s around you
  • Group riding – holding a wheel, signalling, riding predictably
  • Bike handling – feeling comfortable and capable on your bike
  • Bike posture – getting your body position right for better comfort and control
  • Event preparation – preparing for a ride challenge or event you’ve entered
  • Roadside repairs – a flat fixed in minutes rather than a phone call home

You’re in good hands

I’ve spent most of my life on a bike, from racing at the highest level and winning Olympic gold, to coaching riders of all ages and abilities.

I’m an AusCycling Level 2 (Advanced) accredited coach across road, track and MTB, and feel blessed to work alongside a great team of experienced, accredited coaches who know bikes, love riding and genuinely enjoy helping other people ride them too.

Between us, there’s a whole lot of experience on two wheels, and we love helping people get more out of riding.

Whether you’re riding your first few metres or have been riding for years, we’ll meet you wherever you’re at.
