Are you new to riding or would you like to start riding your bicycle? There are a few places you can start…

Absolute Beginners

This beginner’s workshop is designed for adults who have never ridden a bicycle before. With a maximum of 3 participants in each workshop, we guarantee you will be riding on no time!

You will learn essential cycle introductory training in a  quiet environment and by the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

 – Get on and off your bike
 – Start and stop
 – Learn balance, control, braking and posture
 – Perform a simple bike check before riding

Adult Skills

This Adult Cycling Skills workshop is designed to provide the fundamentals to build confidence and safety for anyone wanting to get going on a bike or for those who haven’t ridden in a while and need a refresher.

These sessions are restricted to a small group of people and you will learn cycling basics that build your skills and help you gain the confidence to navigate local parks and cycle ways.

You will learn essential cycle introductory training in a  quiet environment and by the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

– Develop basic cycling skills such as signalling, braking and manoeuvring.
– Demonstrate understanding of safety equipment and clothing
– Carry out a simple bike check before the ride
– Stop without help and stop quickly with control
– Use gears (where present)
– Manoeuvre safely to avoid objects and scan about whilst keeping control
– Control the bike with one hand
– Share space with pedestrians and other riders

Sunday Social Pathway Rides

Learning as a group can be fun and give you the chance to develop and extend your skills in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

As well as developing new cycling skills and gaining confidence, you will meet like-minded people, make new friends and find new adventurous ways to navigate around your neighborhood!

So grab your buddies, your kiddies, your family and your bicycles for a friendly, social bike cruise. Approximately 10-13km on bike paths & quiet roads with frequent stops to regroup, chat, meet new people and enjoy a relaxing pedal exploring the Gold Coast by bicycle.

Community Cycling Club – Go For Gold Cycling Bunch

Community cycle clubs give you the chance to develop and extend your skills in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. 

The Go for Gold Cycling Bunch is a group of cyclists who enjoy a common interest of cycling for recreation and fitness. Integral to the groups ethos is a notion of shared, fun, laughter and enjoyment, with being part of a group with common values as one of the main aims.

The aim of the group is to provide a safe cycling environment and provide opportunities to meet with friends, develop skills and to maintain or improve fitness. 

We ride 5:15am Thursday mornings.
